You’ve probably heard of masseter Botox—unless, of course, you’re one of the many who already swears by it. The cosmetic treatment is praised for sculpting the jawline, easing TMJ pain and even helping with teeth grinding. Among its many fans is Bachelor Nation’s Rachael Kirkconnell, whose provider recently shared a before and after photo of her getting the popular procedure—and the results are a must-see.
Alpharetta, GA-based nurse practitioner Emily Rozelle, MSN, FNP-C, a Skin Pharm provider, posted the reality star’s transformation on Instagram, writing, “Consistent facial treatments + 2 sessions of masseter botox + chin filler has lead to the most beautiful results! I mean, look at that jawline.” Followers quickly took to the comments to praise the natural-looking enhancement, with one writing, “subtle, yet impactful. and of course stunning.” (My thoughts exactly.)
For those unfamiliar with masseter Botox, here’s a quick breakdown: “Masseter Botox is when Botox (the brand name for one neuromodulator) or another neuromodulator is injected into the jaw’s masseter muscle to help alleviate tension (from grinding or clenching teeth) and slim the jawline,” Clifton, NJ dermatologist Hee Jin Koh, MD, previously told NewBeauty, adding that it’s “an off-label usage,” meaning, it’s not the treatment’s FDA-approved intention, but is commonly performed by medical providers based on their expertise and patient needs.
Some providers also pair the treatment with chin filler to enhance facial balance and structure and create a more customized result, which is exactly what Rozelle did, as mentioned in her post’s Instagram caption. “We may slim the face, relax the chin…then enhance or sharpen or add additional definition along the jawline if just neurotoxin doesn’t meet the patient’s goals,” Palo Alto, CA facial plastic surgeons David Lieberman, MD and Sachin S. Parikh, MD previously told NewBeauty.
Not sure about you, but after seeing Kirkconnell’s before-and-after, I’m seriously considering booking a consultation, stat
