On her way to a photoshoot, supermodel Gigi Hadid was spotted sporting pink hair curlers all the way around her head for an old-school glamorous look. Matrix StyleLink celebrity stylist George Papanikolas says that if you’re using curlers, you should prep your hair with a volumizing shampoo and conditioner (only apply to your ends) to boost the efficacy of the rollers and follow with a plumping spray to hair to build even more texture once dry.
To use, blow-dry your hair until it's warm to the touch because your strands need to be warm enough to set the curl. While your hair is still warm, wrap medium-size sections around the rollers two or three times (depending on the length of your hair) and pin to lock the strands around the base. Keep the rollers in for at least 15 minutes (longer, if you want the curls to last longer) and gently remove them.
If you're looking to achieve big, sexy curls, consider picking up some of these tried-and-true rollers. While the basic versions are widely available, supercharged hot rollers keep the romantic look alive for longer.
