Going with the old adage “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” Zendaya’s hairstylist Tai Simon did double-duty with her product lineup of choice for the star’s weekend red-carpet return.
On Saturday, Simon says the goal was to “to achieve a Yasmeen Ghauri–inspired true Hollywood glamour blowout moment fit for an icon” when Zendaya stepped out for the NAACP Image Awards.
Using a full OGX lineup, Simon’s go-to body-and-volume finisher was the OGX Locking + Coconut Curls Decadent Creamy Mousse ($9), which she brushed through with the Tangle Teezer’s The Ultimate Styler for “a smooth and shiny finish.”
For Sunday night at the SAG Awards (where Zendaya is nominated for best actress in a drama series), Simon shares that the inspiration was “something romantic, but also a bit playful…an ultimate bombshell blowout.”
“On wet hair, I sprayed the OGX Protecting + Silky Blowout Quick Drying Thermal Spray ($10) to provide heat protection and hydration,” Simon shared. “It’s the perfect base to then blow-dry and ensure shine. Then, I started blow-drying the hair and while it was still slightly damp, and I added OGX Locking + Coconut Curls Decadent Creamy Mousse ($9) to get volume and accentuate the curl pattern. I then teased the top for extra lift.”
