Selena Gomez’s Nail Game Is Undefeated: Here’s Proof

Sunset Frost Nails

For the 2026 Emmys, Gomez matched her Louis Vuitton gown with a frosted gold manicure. Bachik used two coats of Essie Gel Couture Nail Polish ($13) in the shade Frost Yourself to create the look.

Velvet Noir Nails

For the 2026 Golden Globes, Bachik matched Gomez’s custom black-velvet Chanel gown with what he dubbed a “Velvet Noir” manicure: an inky black shade on mid-length square nails. He used Chanel Le Vernis in Le Diable en Chanel ($34) over La Base Camélia ($34). The finish is neither glossy nor matte but somewhere in between, with a soft, light-catching sheen as rich as the velvet it was named for.

Romeo and Juliet Nails

Proof that Bachik is an artist in every sense of the word: this bejeweled set he created for Gomez in November 2025 is inspired by Romeo + Juliet, and every nail is different. There’s a deep red thumb with an ornate gold charm, a white nail with a tiny green stone, a blush nail with hand-painted florals and a ruby crystal, and a magenta glitter pinky.

Champagne Toast Nails

Toasting to another successful awards season, Gomez’s champagne nails for the 2025 Oscars were a sure winner. “For an Oscar-worthy mani, I started the look with @cndworldwear extender base coat,” Bachik wrote on Instagram. “I applied one coat of CND Shellac in Rule Breaker ($17) and Silk Thread ($17), finishing the look with CND Shellac No-Wipe Top Coat.

Fine Wine Nails

Another awards season fave, Gomez’s BAFTA nails were the ultimate winter manicure. To create the look, Bachik revealed via Instagram that he used Tweezerman tools to prep before using the CND World Shellac System, applying two coats of the brand’s sultry red shade called Needles & Red ($17), sealing it with a top coat and cuticle oil for an ultra-glossy finish.

White on White Nails

At the 2025 Palm Springs Film Festival, Gomez arrived in an all-white Ralph Lauren ensemble, with the perfect monochromatic French manicure to match.

“Last night’s timeless monochromatic ‘White on White’ French manicure was inspired by Selena's all White Power Suit by Ralph Lauren,” Bachik shared on Instagram. “To create the look, I first went in with Blanc by essie ($10) to sculpt the French Tip. Then, to add a monochromatic sheen we went in and applied one coat of Arctic Jelly ($13) all over the nail.”

Proposal Nails

We’ll never forget Benny Blanco's Taco Bell-inspired proposal, and we’re forever obsessed with Gomez’s simple, chic sheer nude nails for the occasion too.

“For her engagement, we went with just a beautiful, classical, sheer, pinky-nude, but she normally loves color; she wants colors that pop, that make her happy,” Bachik told Who What Wear. “The nail shade that we used is Ballerina from Chanel ($34). She didn’t know it was happening; she had a Chanel luncheon, and I’m like, ‘Hey, why not use a Chanel color?’ We wanted something that was classic, timeless and elegant; something that just kind of went with everything.”

Eggplant Chic Nails

For the Los Angeles premiere of her film Emilia Pérez, Gomez rocked a perfectly plum manicure in her signature almond shape courtesy of Aprés Gel’s Eggplant Emoji ($15).

Witchy Nails

Alongside co-star David Henrie, Gomez served up the ultimate witchy nail inspiration at the premiere for Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, and nail tech Tom Bachik revealed the onyx shade to be Mia Secret Black Gelux Gel Polish ($10).

Cosmic Nails

For the Academy Museum Gala, Bachik opted for an out-of-this-world cosmic manicure with just the right amount of sparkle thanks to Olive & June Cosmic Silver Gel Polish ($10).

For the Emilia Pérez premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, Bachik created a “movie star mani” for Gomez, using CND’s Purplexity ($9) for the ultimate pearlescent look.
