Real Housewives of New Jersey star Jennifer Aydin is not shy about sharing details of her life, namely all-things plastic surgery and cosmetic treatments. Now, in collaboration with her husband, Paramus, NJ plastic surgeon Bill Aydin, MD, the reality-television mainstay is launching a tool to make recovering from aesthetic procedures and treatments a little easier—and a whole lot more comfortable.
Named the Ultimate Beauty Pillow: LLB – for Lips, Lashes and Brows, the pillow is designed to be placed on top of your regular pillow and features a concave design to prevent sleeping on your face and thus disrupting in-office results.
Like many genius inventions, Aydin tells NewBeauty she created the pillow after a personal experience left her wanting more. “After going to my husband’s office to get a facial and using a pillow the office provided at that time, I was so uncomfortable. I began to discuss the process of not sleeping on your face and finding the right product to provide you with both comfort and support,” she says.
As for the pillow’s benefits, Aydin says it’s all about delivering control. “It allows you to maintain a controlled position for you to lie flat on your back,” she says, noting that recovery from plastic surgery and many in-office treatments require laying on your back. “The pillow allows your fillers to stay in place as well as it being a pillow used in recovery after a facelift, tummy tuck, nose job, eyelift, breast augmentation, etc.,” says Aydin.
Since launching, Aydin says she’s already gotten the stamp of approval from her fellow RHONJ castmates. “They have incorporated my pillow while sleeping as their nightly routine, and a few castmates also had the pleasure of using the pillow as a recovery pillow after their own plastic surgery.”
The star, who has been open in the media about her breast reduction, liposuction, and breast lift with implants, tells NewBeauty that being married to a plastic surgeon is a big deciding factor in her surgeries. “I am exposed to all the new technology for all the procedures,” she says. “It’s been a great plus.”
While Aydin’s breast reduction and liposuction resulted in a significant weight loss, she notes it took some real determination to reach her goal weight. “I believe in maintaining myself, and I also try to control a pretty healthy food plan. It can be difficult with five children, but we do our best. As a family we sit down to eat dinner every night together, so when something slides on the menu that’s not so healthy, you can believe my husband has all eyes on us.”
Overall, Aydin says that “totally changing” her meal plan and not eating late at night made a big difference in her weight-loss journey. “I drink water all day long, I try to work out in our home gym with my husband during the week, and we also have a family nutritionist.”
