This Treatment Makes It Look Like You Get a Blowout Every Morning

By ·

If we had one wish, the winner would be an even tie between wrinkles never surfacing and our hair always looking like we just left a blowout appointment. Luckily, this perm-like trend from—you guessed it—Korea, leaves your hair looking like you got a bouncy blowout every morning, with results that last for months at a time.

The “C-Curl” treatment works to straighten the majority of your hair, except for the ends, which are curled—hence the “C” shape at the ends—for that coveted blowout touch. You can also customize the direction of the curls (they can face inward, outward or both) depending on the length of your hair and the end results you’re after. The most memorable, so to speak, part of this treatment is the machine that holds the curls in place. The device and approach varies per salon, but oftentimes they have suspended, robot-like arms to hold each individual barrel curl in place (very reminiscent of early 1900’s hair salons).

We know what you’re thinking—where can we sign up? While this process isn’t available at most stateside salons, you can try looking for Korean salons in your area, confirming the C-Curl treatment is available and that they’re fluent in the process. If you’re impatient (guilty), try passing a flat iron through the lengths of your hair, stopping about 3 or 4 inches below the ends, leaving room for a curl. Follow with a large-barreled curling iron only on the tips and brush through for a bouncy, just-left-the-salon look at home.
