We’ve witnessed some stunning hair transformations lately: Cate Blanchett chopped her hair into a French girl bob, and Lily Collins shed several inches to embrace a blunt-cut bob. What was missing was a bold color change—until now. Enter Lisa Rinna, who has gone platinum blonde for the first time.
The reality star, 60, shocked everyone when she arrived at the Balenciaga Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2024-2025 show during Paris Fashion Week with icy-blonde hair parted off-center and slicked back. To complement the new ‘do, she wore a leopard-print floor-length coat over an all-black ensemble, teamed with a clutch to match. For glam, she opted for bold cat eye liner and a contoured complexion.
“We dyed my hair platinum, which is the biggest deal ever because I’ve never done that before in my life,” she told Perfect Magazineat the Balenciaga show. She added that it took 12 hours to complete the transformation from start to finish.
Her new hair color was the work of L’Oréal Professional color specialist Iman Blomsterson and Johan Hellstrom, hairstylist, owner, and CEO of the Swedish hair brand Björn Axén.
In an Instagram video shared on Björn Axén’s feed, Rinna and her stylists gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at the hair-dyeing process. “The story goes: @lisarinna asked for drama and we replied ‘say less,’ they wrote in the caption. “12 hours later she woke up as a blonde for the first time in her life.”

In the clip, she said she entrusted Blomsterson and Hellstrom because they’re the “best in the world,” adding, “That’s why we decided to do it.”
But apparently, that wasn’t the only deciding factor. “You know what I really love to do?” she asked her hair team while they were working on her hair. “I like to freak people out, and this will freak people out.”
“We’ll see if blondes have more fun,” said a freshly blonde Rinna, just before her glam squad took to her hair with hot tools.

Seemingly keeping with her goal of “freaking people out,” Rinna attended the Viktor&Rolf show sporting a different look. Her platinum hair remained, of course, but she changed into a suit and bowtie, styling her hair in a voluminous, spiky fashion, and completed the look with bold-rimmed black glasses.
