In what feels like the blink of an eye, summer is nearing its end. While the end of summer and the beginning of fall is exciting for some and mournful for others, the one thing we all have in common when the seasons change is that insatiable itch to change up our look, namely, our hair.

This summer has been full of celebrity hair color inspiration, from bright blondes to fun pinks and warm brunettes. As we transition to the cooler months, we’re on the lookout for more transitional shades, and Lindsay Lohan’s latest “churro” copper hair is serving up just the delectable fall inspo we need.

We’re Salivating Over Lindsay Lohan’s Churro Copper Hair

Ever since her Mean Girls and Parent Trap days, Lindsay Lohan has been known for her red hair. Now, at 38, the actress and singer’s copper strands have stood the test of time, consistently complimenting her complexion and looking effortlessly chic and sophisticated.

This week, Lohan’s hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos posted on Instagram revealing a subtle but eye-catching update to the star’s hair, which he deemed “Churro waves,” in the caption for the post. Lohan’s sweet treat–inspired look features her signature copper base, but with lighter highlights throughout, making it the perfect summer-to-fall transitional style. And, the slightly crimped, waist-skimming style of Lohan’s churro-inspired ‘do is just the icing on the cake—or, well, churro.

In terms of how Giannetos achieved the churro wave style, the stylist told NewBeauty, “Churro waves are a combination of flat waves and mermaid waves—it’s more stringy and styled in different directions making it sweet and messy, like churros! I prepared the hair by using the NEXXUS Prep & Protect Leave-In Spray ($23) before any heat. Then, I used the GHD 1 inch Curling Iron ($209) to give the hair some bends. After, I sprayed with the NEXXUS Comb Thru Finishing Mist ($16), and on the crown I used the NEXXUS Slick Stick ($16) on a toothbrush to avoid any fly aways.”
