Whether you hang a still life in your bedroom or display fresh produce in your kitchen, it’s easy to take advantage of the beauty of fruit. Nail art is another option if you want something temporary and fun.

You’d have plenty of examples to draw from, as fruit designs seem to be having a moment. In its summer 2024 trend report, Pinterest shared that searches for “fruity nails” increased by 175 percent on the platform in April 2024 compared to April 2023. The report also noted increases in more specific searches, like “grapefruit nails,” “blueberry nail art” and “cute strawberry nails.”

Nailing Hollywood nail artist Hang Nguyen has noticed the increased interest in fruit nail art. “There [has been] an uptick in fruit nail art, especially with cherries, strawberries and lemons,” she says. Generally, fruit nail art gains popularity during the spring and summer months, when people tend to seek out more playful designs, she adds.

While the trend may not seem well-suited to nail art novices, it’s possible to achieve fruity nails even if your skills aren’t advanced. Nguyen points to her watermelon and pineapple pedicure tutorials as two relatively easy examples.

DIY or professional fruit nail designs can fit different aesthetics, depending on what you choose. Whether you’re considering berry nails, a citrusy design or a full-on fruit salad, here are 15 inspirational photos to spark your creativity.
