Chrome nails dominated our social media feeds in 2024, but the trend isn’t going anywhere, especially now that celebrity manicurist Tom Bachik has launched his Cosmic Chrome Powder collection. The easy (and budget-friendly) powder is an easy way to achieve the high-shine look at home for nails as double-take-worthy as his clients like Selena Gomez and Hailee Steinfeld.
The collection boasts five colors at $12 apiece. There’s Angel (an icy clear chrome), Aurora (an orange/blue shifting chrome), celestial (a pink/green shifting chrome), Ethereal (a blue/purple shifting chrome) and Halo (a white chrome). The only catch is that you’ll need an LED nail lamp and a non-wipe gel to bring the look to life, but once you have those, you’re set. See the product in action below.
As for the application process, Bachik breaks it down step by step on the brand’s website: “To apply chrome powders, start by applying a layer of non-wipe gel (or your favorite Click Color Pen) to your nails and curing it for 30 seconds. Next, buff the chrome powder into the nail surface using a soft applicator or sponge. Once the powder is fully applied and the desired effect is achieved, top it off with a layer of clear non-wipe gel. CC-01 Super Clear is highly recommended for a smooth, glossy finish. Cure for another 60 seconds, and you’re all set to rock your stunning chrome nails!”
This marks only the second drop in Bachik’s growing lineup. He first introduced his Click Color Pens—an all-in-one gel polish pen—this past December. “Meet Click Colors by Tom Bachik,” the nail pro captioned an Instagram post at the time. You can purchase the pens for $16 each via the brand’s website and they come in seven colors: Clear, Rouge Red, Red Cherry, Gunmetal, Black Denim, Pink Whip and Iced Chai.
