Kylie Jenner has been feeling very generous with her beauty secrets lately. Just a few days after the 27-year-old was praised for unexpectedly revealing the details of her boob job on TikTok, she decided to share a bit more about her beauty routine, this time offering fans an exclusive look into how her hairstylist, Cherilyn Farris, perfects her bouncy blowout.
The TikTok video starts with Farris giving Jenner a simple blowout with a round brush before adding in some clip-in extensions to add more body and thickness to the hair. Farris follows by using a 1.5-inch curling iron to curl a few bottom sections of Jenner’s hair towards her face. Then, she takes a 1.25-inch iron to create “a bunch of different types” of curls throughout the top and mid-section of the beauty mogul’s hair, “so nothing lays together uniformly.” By this, she means curling the hair in different ways and directions to ensure the hair is as voluminous as possible. She wraps a few sections of hair around the iron, the way she would a curling wand, while also curling other sections using a twirl-and-pull motion.
“I always go all the way to the ends because we like that flippy kind of classic blowout look,” Farris says. Next, she takes a flat iron to curl the sections on the crown of Jenner’s head and the bang area, mentioning that she prefers this method because it offers a bit more control when curling the hair.
“Where I see people struggle [with] getting the volume around the part line is usually because you’re using a curling iron,” she said. “A flat iron is just going to help give you a little bit more control.” Farris continues this until Jenner’s whole head is filled with bouncy curls of various sizes, and then she finishes things off with an unnamed hairspray to hold it all together.
