It can be hard to imagine a Hollywood icon and all-around powerful woman like Jamie Lee Curtis ever feeling insecure, but at the end of the day, celebrities really are just like us. For years, we’ve associated the Everything Everywhere All at Once star with her cropped haircut. As it turns out, the signature style is more meaningful to the 66-year-old actress than we know and plays a major role in her overall confidence, Curtis revealed via Instagram this morning.
Why Jamie Lee Curtis Loves Her Hair
If there’s one thing we beauty lovers can all agree on, the power of a good haircut is not to be underestimated, and Curtis can attest. In an Instagram mirror selfie post dedicated to her long-time hairstylist, Curtis took to the caption to explain that she had to grow her hair out over the last year for different film projects. While it wasn’t the end of the world, it did impact her self-image. “I did fine and obviously it’s not a big deal, but when I have my hair cut the way I love it and the way it suits me, it gives me the freedom to exist with no makeup and very little fuss,” she wrote.
Shouting out her master stylist Sean James, Curtis explained that her signature pixie “gives me a confidence that I never had in my life,” and is grateful that James has been in charge of nailing her short style for years. “He returned me to it yesterday, and I woke up this morning and thought, ‘OK, now I look like me,'” Curtis wrote. From the selfie alone, you can tell Curtis’ return to her favorite ‘do is doing wonders for confidence—it’s radiating through her and our screens, too!
