Jennifer Love Hewitt is keeping it refreshingly real. Over the weekend, the 46-year-old actress took to Instagram to share a bare-faced selfie—no special occasion, no glam, just because.
"Learning to love the skin I’m in more and more each day," she wrote in the caption of her post from Sunday, March 23, adding, "This is for all my ladies out there who are feeling the same." She added the hashtags #nomakeup and #nofilter to drive the message home.
As is often the case when makeup-free selfies posting makeup-free selfies, the comments section quickly filled up with a range of responses. Some followers speculated about cosmetic treatments, others applauded her vulnerability and many echoed her sentiment—saying they, too, are learning to embrace their bare-faced selves.
This isn't the first time Hewitt's gone makeup-free recently. In February, the Ghost Whisperer alum rang in her birthday with yet another post embracing her natural glow. “46 years old. No makeup and no filter,” she captioned the post, which shows her looking confident without a stitch of makeup. “One of my besties hates a filter, so this is for you,” she added.
Despite her smile in the photo, Hewitt shared that it’s been a difficult time for her. “It’s been a hard start to the year,” she continued. “I don’t quite feel myself. But yet I feel like maybe this is all to bring me closer to who I am meant to be.”
She concluded the post with: “I have experienced and seen how the world can be cruel to women as they age and yet seen the women I admire become happier, sexier and more powerful with every added number,” she wrote. “I am so deeply grateful for this life. I love all who choose to do it by my side and I am ready to give love today to the younger me and the older me because they are my ride or die’s. Sending love to all and cheers to 46!”
