Summer style reigned supreme at our cover shoot with Connie Britton. We caught up with stylist duo Alyssa Sutter and Lindsay Pogemiller for Rachel Zoe Studio to get the inside info and inspiration behind the looks they created.
NB: What kind of styles work well with Connie to play up her best features?
Fitted, short styles worked best on Connie. We really wanted to show off her great figure and long legs!
NB: What was your overall inspiration for this shoot?
Aside from wanting to play up her assets, we wanted the styling to look clean and fresh for the summer issue. We pulled a lot of tailored pieces in a white and blue color palette.
NB: What were your favorite details of the given styles?
We really loved the teal Zac Posen dress that Connie wore. The fit and flare showed off her tiny waist and legs. The color was stunning with her hair and made her eyes pop!
NB: What summer trends did you bring to this shoot?
All-white looks were all over the Spring 2015 runways. This shoot was a perfect opportunity to bring this trend to life.
NB: Did the shooting location provide any inspiration for the looks you pulled?
Absolutely! The home [The Modern Treehouse LA] was so light and airy. With such great natural light throughout the house and minimalist decor, we knew the clothing needed to be similar. Anything too embellished or over the top, would take away from the overall feel, and Connie especially!
