The Power of Three Mascaras
By Anna Jimenez, Editorial Video Director |
There is something magical about the number three. In writing, the "rule of three" says that information is funnier, more impactful and better understood when in a succession of three. In beauty, this is the case as well—"Wash, rinse, repeat", "Easy, breezy, beautiful" and so on. That's why when Eyeko debuted their Mascara Wardrobe ($28), they decided to release one formula with three brushes to define, curl and add volume.
Now perhaps Eyeko didn't consider the power of three when creating their wardrobe, but it worked for me. I love the idea of having one formula with three different brushes, because as a beauty editor and eyelash enthusiast, I have found that it really is the shape of the brush that makes the biggest impact on how luscious my lashes look. Having a thick, conditioning formula packed with shea butter, keratin and pro-vitamin B, and that also happens to be super black, doesn't hurt either.
The Define brush has loose bristles and is a slight crescent shape for lift and separation of your lashes. The Curl brush is waved, to offer up an eye-opening shape to your lashes and finally, the Volume brush is tightly packed and fat, to really coat each lash with the formula.
Now, if you are like me and think, "But wait, where do you keep the extra brushes?" Don’t worry, each one comes with it's own little capsule so they stay clean in-between uses.
