The idea, as Refinery29 reports, is based on the concept of dyed hair growing out and exposing new growth (aka your natural hair color). For many, this means gray or dark roots on a lighter head of hair, but now it could mean having an inch or so of your favorite color at your roots, instead. Ranging from classic hues to rainbow- and unicorn-inspired blends, the trend is just as gorgeous as it is personalized.
