One of the things I envy most about celebrities is their access to the best of the best in hair stylists and colorists, allowing for major hair transformations at the drop of a hat. Whether it's bum-grazing extensions or brown to pink in one session, celebrity hairstylists are truly the magicians of the A-list beauty world.
As of late, one star we've been keeping a close eye on when it comes to hair transformations is The Kissing Booth star Joey King. At the Cannes Film Festival last month, King debuted a chic, French-inspired bob that had fans reeling. But, many speculated that the style may be a wig. This week, the rumors were settled as King stepped out with bleached-blonde, shoulder-length strands, revealing—alongside her hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos—that the bob was a ruse.
Joey King's New Blonde Look
At the Paris premier for the new Despicable Me 4, King stepped out onto the red carpet rocking a hairstyle a few inches longer and a couple shades lighter than we saw on her last month at Cannes. Featuring a dark shadow root, King's medium-length blonde strands are edgey, yet light and airy enough for summer.
King's hairstylist, Dimitris Giannetos, posted the actress' new look on his Instagram, deeming the style "Playboy blonde." After cutting and coloring King's hair, Giannetos used Moroccanoil's Treatment Purple ($38) to keep her strands shiny, healthy and brass-free. In terms of the great bob debate, Giannetos revealed to PEOPLE, "We used a high-quality, waist-length wig for the transformation. By cutting and styling the wig into a sleek bob, we achieved the dramatic change without any permanent commitment. It's all about versatility and playing with different looks."
