It’s an Argentine beauty secret.

Argentine actress Eva De Dominici is bringing the chaos—and we’re here for it. She stars opposite Mark Wahlberg, Paul Walter Hauser and Sacha Baron Cohen in Peter Farrelly’s raunchy new comedy Balls Up, streaming globally on Amazon Prime Video starting April 15.

Known for her scene-stealing roles in The Cleaning Lady, The Uninvited alongside Pedro Pascal and the Spanish-language thriller Sangre Blanca, she’s quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s most compelling rising stars. In Balls Up, she plays the wife of a drug lord who sends two hapless marketers’ lives into full-on chaos—and, simply put, it gets gloriously messy.

How do you feel as you go into the big premiere week?

“I’m so excited. We shot this movie two years ago, and it’s finally coming out. It’s coming out a couple of months before the World Cup. As an Argentinian, that’s a big deal!”

That’s huge. How was filming it? I’m sure there were a lot of funny moments with such a funny group of people.

“Everything was very fun. It’s actually my first comedy. I’ve always been a little bit scared of doing comedy, and it’s a new genre for me. It’s the first thing I studied when I first came to the States. I took classes in comedy, but for some reason, I’ve always avoided the auditions for sitcoms or comedies in general. Then, when I got the script of this movie, I was shooting something else in Italy, and I’m like, ‘Wait, what? What are these names? I’m in!’

Peter Farrelly, the writers of Deadpool, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and then Mark Wahlberg and Paul Walter Hauser. Once I booked the part, I learned that I was going to play Sacha Baron Cohen’s wife!”

Congrats. Will you be part of the premiere, the press and the red carpet?

“Yes, I will. And I’m ready! I’ve been doing fittings, and after a lot of great options, I went with Carolina Herrera and Bulgari. All of that can be really difficult to decide, but I’m so glad with the look that we’ve created with Oretta Corbelli, my stylist. We wanted something fresh and elegant at the same time. It’s a comedy, so it needs to have that freshness. I feel that it’s going to be a fun night, and let’s see what Amazon has prepared for us.”

Very exciting. Are there any skin care or beauty products that you’ve relied on when you are filming, beyond the red carpet?

“I’ve been wearing a lot of Lancôme products. I try to always make sure to remove my makeup when I get home after shooting. That’s for the everyday, actually. When you are shooting, they put tons of makeup on your skin. My skin is a little sensitive, so I always try to remove my makeup, and every night I do a little routine with a moisturizer. There’s one that’s specifically for the night, and that works incredibly on my skin. Then, I try to also do a serum under the eyes.

When I wake up, before shooting, I’ll always try to do the under-eye patches. That helps a lot with the swelling. I’ve also been using the red-light therapy. I think that it’s very helpful. I have a lot of freckles, so I have to be very careful with the serum. I’m always making sure to wear a moisturizer with SPF. If not, I’ll just apply an SPF higher than 50. That’s what my doctor told me to do!”

A good thing to be diligent about. Are there any Argentine lines you like, or any rituals that you keep close to you from home?

“That’s an interesting question. One thing I do that will sound a little crazy is I avoid coffee before a big appearance; I replace it with mate. That’s an Argentinian drink. For whatever reason, coffee isn’t always great for my skin. So, before some big events, I try to replace it with mate. That’s an Argentinian thing. Do you know mate? Have you ever tried it?”

I haven’t, and I’m a big coffee drinker….

“This has caffeine, but it’s different. I really think it’s better for my skin because I put so much milk in my coffee—I don’t like coffee by itself. Anyway, to avoid dairy, I drink mate. And I really see the difference in my skin when I do it. That’s a good old Argentinian thing! You should try it, but I can’t promise you will like it!”
