Kristen Bell has an announcement: Unveiled today, the actress—most recently known and loved for her role in Netflix’s Nobody Wants This—has been named L'Oréal Paris’s new global ambassador. The new gig will have her fronting the beloved drugstore beauty brand’s skin, hair and makeup lines, starting with its Age Perfect Midnight Cream ($29).
The news is making its rounds on social media, where the brand has shared its first campaign video with Bell. In it, she (with the help of an unseen narrator), introduces herself: “You may know her as a princess or a private eye,” the narrator says, as Bell adds she’s also “a mom, a dog lover and very competitive.” After a quick rundown of her chaos-proof, joie de vivre energy, Bell turns to camera: “Hi, I'm Kristen Bell, and I am the newest global brand ambassador for L'Oréal Paris. And yes, I'm worth it.”
Her relationship with the brand is quite relatable. “I remember sneaking into my mom’s vanity, stealing five minutes with the L’Oréal Paris lipstick before she caught me,” Bell said in a statement. “Looking back, that wasn’t really about the lipstick—I was trying on who I might become. I didn’t need L’Oréal Paris to tell me who that was. But they gave me the tools to go find out, and they’ve been doing that for women for decades: not handing us an identity, but handing us permission to go try one. I’m proud to be a Global Ambassador of a brand that’s always understood the difference.”
As revealed in an interview with Elle, the newest product Bell’s fallen in love with from the brand hasn’t had to be a secret. On set for her campaign shoot, she met the Hyaluron Tint Lip Stain Serum ($14), particularly the shade 601, fittingly named “I'm Worth It.” She revealed to the outlet that she’s “tried pretty much every lip color that L'Oréal Paris has,” which is what makes it so notable that this one earned her declaration that it’s the “best lip color that's ever been created.”
Another brand favorite of hers, she reveals, is Lumi Glotion ($18), a tinted, radiance-boosting moisturizer that also counts Bethenny Frankel, Martha Stewart and Heidi Klum among its fans. “I tend to lean a little bit more natural on a day-to-day basis with makeup and have a quicker routine probably than I’d like, but it’s multipurpose and can be a primer, bronzer and a full face of foundation if you need it to be.” It’s yet another dose of her relatability, proof that even a global beauty ambassador is just looking for one product that can pull triple duty on a busy day, like you and me.
