Rewind to 2015, and I’m standing in a bookstore at the Bal Harbour Shops in Miami, waiting to interview Cindy Crawford. She was debuting her new book, Becoming (I still have my signed copy on my coffee table) and excited to chat all things beauty. Her skin-care brand Meaningful Beauty had launched a decade before, but it was still a bit under the radar.
Today, the brand has more than 20 products in its lineup and millions of loyal customers. Though I always considered the cult-classic Melon Serum to be my favorite, I recently tried the Youth Activating Smoothing and Refreshing Eye Serum ($60) and wow. I love it! Here’s my honest review.
The Benefits of This Eye Serum
I’ll admit that I wasn’t always a believer that eye creams were necessary in a skin-care routine. However, that sentiment has changed. In my late 30s with two toddlers making a full night’s sleep very difficult, I appreciate a results-driven eye product more than you know. This one contains Meaningful Beauty’s encapsulated Melon Leaf Stem Cell Technology, which is packed with potent antioxidants from a rare melon in the South of France. The delicate skin around our eyes can become crepey and thin with age, and oxidative stress, which antioxidants help prevent, can exacerbate these changes. This exclusive technology also visibly plumps, firms, hydrates and brightens skin over time.
I love that the texture is a quick-absorbing gel serum, which dries pretty fast without a sticky residue and layers nicely under makeup. It also has a nice cooling effect and metal tip that I use to massage away my puffiness, which feels great after a long night. If you want extra cooling, store it in the fridge! Though you can use the serum twice a day, I only use it in the morning, which is what the brand recommends as well. The antioxidant protection pairs so well with sunscreen as well for double-duty defense against oxidative stress and free-radical damage. It’s also a great pick for someone looking for a lighter formula as the seasons change.
