Milan Fashion Week is, of course, all about the upcoming season’s fashion, but it also delivers plenty of standout beauty moments worth bookmarking. While inspiration often comes straight from the runway, celebrities and front-row attendees offer just as much street-style beauty influence. Case in point: Demi Moore.
Attending Demna’s first show as creative director at Gucci, Moore debuted a short, textured, wet-look bob that immediately turned heads. The style was created by celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos. “I wanted to give Demi a very bold and fashion-forward look for Demna’s show,” says Giannetos. “It is inspired by the silhouettes of the new collection.”
Her “Gucci bob” marks a dramatic departure from the 63-year-old’s signature extra-long locks. “I felt an amazing, short, above-the-shoulder bob with this very sleek, wet texture would be perfect to complement her look,” Giannetos explains. “It’s a big change for Demi—we’ve never seen her like this before! She looks very cool, effortless and modern. And it highlights her personality.”
The bob continues to be one of the most requested celebrity haircuts right now, with everyone from Gracie Abrams to Leslie Bibb embracing the chop (Jenna Bush Hager even had hers cut live on TV). While some bobs skew blunt and sharp, Moore’s version features texture and movement, with subtle layering throughout.
Leaning into the cool-girl energy, Moore paired the look with oversized sunglasses and an all-leather ensemble. She also brought along her Chihuahua, Pilaf, who posed for photos and took in the show alongside her.
The wet-look hairstyle itself has become a red-carpet favorite, worn by stars including Kim Kardashian and Zendaya. To recreate the slicked-back, just-out-of-the-shower effect, start with well-hydrated hair and apply a moisturizing leave-in conditioner. Then comb through a generous amount of high-shine gel, pomade or oil from roots to ends to achieve that glossy finish.
