Of all the beauty trends of 2024, none have been as mesmerizing and inspiring as the countless nail looks that have emerged this year. According to the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), turquoise is a "semi-translucent to opaque gem that ranges from blue to green" that "imparts peace to those who wear it." Tanzanite's deep and saturated color, which ranges from a rich blue to violet, is often described as "velvety." Zircon actually has a broad shade range, but December's birthstone focuses on hues of greenish blues, purportedly a favorite gem in Victorian England.
