While the “Who has had their teeth done?” question in Hollywood is often coupled with some hush-hush speculation, Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn took her smile makeover moment straight to social media—sharing with her 2 million followers what can only be described as the before-and-after power of veneers.
The 35-year-old captioned, “I got new teeth,” as she thanked her dentist and posted a corresponding behind-the-scenes video showing a bit of the process, straight from the chair.
Vonn’s time-lapsed version went from before-to-after in seconds but, as Atlanta cosmetic dentist Ronald Goldstein, DDS, shares, in real time, the process is not a quick, one-appointment procedure.
“Veneers have become the most popular cosmetic dental procedure to achieve a great smile. After your consultation appointment, your cosmetic dentist designs your smile—and, in the next appointment, you will need to approve it,” he explains.
“Then, the appointment for the actual procedure is scheduled, which is followed with temporary veneers. After that, the dental laboratory will construct the veneers that will be tried on at the next appointment, and—if the patient approves—the veneers will be bonded into place. So, the entire procedure can take one-to-four weeks.”
