Perfect dressed down or dressed up, flowy waves is one of the most versatile hairstyles on-trend for spring and celebrity stylist Ted Gibson agrees. “Everyone knows I love waves. I think they are super sexy and timeless! For this spring I’m loving soft, romantic waves—they bring instant glamour to any look.”
This go-to look for spring and summer may seem difficult to achieve but with a curling iron and a few spritzes, you’ll have this a-list look in no time. To achieve this look, follow these easy steps from Gibson.
1. Start by using a volumizing spray all over your hair and blow dry with a round brush to add volume and texture. “To create the right effect for this look volume is very important,” adds Gibson.
2. Then, apply gel to the ends for smoothness.
3. Next, select a medium to large barrel curling iron, depending on how wavy you want your hair to be. The smaller the curling iron, the tighter the wave. Take a 1-inch section of hair and wrap it around the barrel of the iron, leaving the ends out and holding for about 5 seconds, then release.
4. Finish with hairspray to hold everything in place and then you have “The Gibson Girl Wave!”
