A stylist cuts your hair according to your face shape and hair texture, and you wouldn’t dream of using a stencil to shape your brows. The same goes for your skin—a place where one-size-fits all is not necessarily a plus.

Meet DiamondGlow, SkinMedica’s newest in-office skin-resurfacing treatment. The one-of-a-kind facial takes your skin type and concerns into account to deliver a personalized experience tailored specifically for your skin. The result: You’ll leave the spa or doctor’s office one step closer to your ideal complexion. This is the future of personalized skin care.

Step 1: Precision Diamond Tip
The “diamond” in DiamondGlow comes from an actual diamond tip that attaches to the hand piece. “The diamond tip simultaneously exfoliates, extracts and infuses the desired serum,” explains Los Angeles dermatologist, Rebecca Fitzgerald, MD. “The choice of tip depends on the area being treated and the patient’s individual response to treatment.”

After a discussion about your skin type and skin concerns, your provider will choose from one of six different diamond tips. As Dr. Fitzgerald explains, different diamond tips offer varying levels of exfoliation. Your provider will use a smooth tip specifically designed for around the eyes and lips, and will choose a diamond tip for tough skin, for resilient skin, for normal skin, for sensitive skin, and for extremely sensitive skin and/or skin with visible redness.

In her practice, medical aesthetician Cynthia Rivas “often utilize[s] multiple tips throughout one treatment to further customize the results for clients,” she says. Your tip may also change from visit to visit: “I have also had many instances where my first session with a client starts with a more abrasive tip. After a series of treatments, the skin is dramatically smoother, and I will use a less abrasive tip in their next session,” she says.

Each DiamondGlow provider is an expert in choosing the best diamond tip for varying skin types. Thanks to this six-part choice, DiamondGlow can be customized to meet skin’s exact needs with the right level of exfoliation.

Step 2: Targeted SkinMedica® Pro-Infusion Serums
In addition to the diamond tip, you and your provider will choose from five SkinMedica® Pro-Infusion Serums to infuse onto your skin during the treatment. Opt for SkinMedica® Pro-Infusion Ultra Hydrating (best for skin from dehydrated flaky skin to normal skin in need of a moisture boost), Vitamin C (best to give the skin a healthy looking complexion with added antioxidant protection), Skin Brightening (best for those with dull skin, designed to reduce the appearance of dark spots), Pore Clarifying (best for acne-prone skin to enhance skin clarity and skin texture), and/or the new TNS® Advanced+ (the ultimate age-defying treatment to comprehensively rejuvenate and transform skin).

After a thorough skin analysis and conversation about your skin goals and concerns, your aesthetic provider will customize the DiamondGlow treatment with the perfect serum for you. As Rivas explains, you can also utilize up to two serums per session, so you never have to choose between hydration and brightness. “The combination options are endless and enables the provider to provide amazing results,” she says.

Step 3: Curated At-Home SkinMedica® Skincare Regimen
Thanks to the power of SkinMedica®, your treatment results can extend far beyond your in-office appointment because transformed skin deserves transformative skincare. Each SkinMedica® Pro-Infusion Serum has a corresponding take-home skincare routine designed to enhance and extend the results of the in-office treatment.

“These regimens contain products with similar active ingredients to the DiamondGlow treatment,” explains Dr. Fitzgerald.” For example, If you and your provider chose the Skin Brightening DiamondGlow treatment, you can go home with AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser, Lytera® 2.0 Pigment Correcting Serum, and the new TNS® Advanced+ Serum, a custom routine designed to continue fighting dark spots. Whichever in-office serum and take-home regimen you choose, make sure to end your skincare routine with Essential Defense Mineral Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 35 for sun protection.

No matter what your skin type or skin concern, you’ll optimize your DiamondGlow treatment with a customized skin-care routine designed to keep you on the path to perfect skin.

Every single client has different skin, and DiamondGlow honors our differences with these three areas of customization, which add up to an endless amount of choices that lead to glowing, youthful-looking skin.
