Kate Hudson and Anna Faris's Trainer Gets Real About How Stars Get Their Hollywood Bodies

Nicole Stuart is a pilates instructor and personal trainer to A-List celebrities like Kate Hudson, Anna Faris and Demi Moore. Earlier this week, she shared her top fitness tips with Healthista.

Stuart didn’t necessarily share moves or workouts she does with her clients. While she does insist that pilates are great to strengthen and stretch, she also points out the importance of certain mindfulness techniques.

For instance, she warns people about listening to the voice in their head that tries to talk them out of working out. “There’s always that defensive mechanism in our minds telling you not to work out today,” she tells the site. “You have to strengthen that voice inside your head that knows you need to get up and do something.”

Meaning never give up. You have good days and bad and of course there are days I/ you don't want to do a thing and thats ok but what matters most, is knowing what voice you're listening to... is it that negative voice inside your head holding you back??? Or that voice inside of you that screams for change???That voice of change doesn't want to stay stuck.... build that voice up. The more you listen to that voice of change, thats what pushes you through those uncomfortable places.... and the stronger it becomes, outweighing that negative voice that's holding you back. #anythingispossible fight back DONT STAY STUCK!!!!!

More notably, she gets real about what it’s like to get a Hollywood body. She explains that, while training Anna Faris for The House Bunny, she was working extra hard to get her in shape. Guidelines included only eating 1100 calories a day and training five days a week on top of cardio. 

“She was young and fit so before every pilates session she would run a mile before we worked out,” Stuart explained. “And we’d see each other in the morning and then she’d do another 15 minutes after a session and then later that day I would have her go run or walk the hills for 30-45 minutes and then the next day we would do circuit training and cardio. So it was always changing it up.”

Stuart goes on to note that this isn’t a viable option for a day-to-day routine for women. She explains that this is the kind of program actresses do if they're shooting every scene in a bikini. “We were on a strict program for about two to three months and she was highly motivated and it paid off.”

As nice as it is to learn workouts and tips from top trainers, it’s actually quite refreshing to hear, for once, that the ideal Hollywood body isn’t as achievable as it seems.
