Best known for starring in the iconic Ugly Betty, Becki Newton is back tonight for Season 3 of Netflix’s hit series, The Lincoln Lawyer. Without giving away any spoilers, it’s safe to say Newton’s character of Lorna Crane has some solid plot points this go (all episodes drop today), as she balances beauty and brains. Newton invited us along to the recent premiere, as she sat back, relaxed and shone the spotlight on her trusted glam squad, featuring Beau Nelson on makeup, Eduardo Mendez on hair, and Jessica Paster on styling.
How does your glam squad help you get ready for an event and in the right head space to hit the red carpet?
I love Beau and Eduardo, so them coming to help me get ready is a chance to connect with old friends. Beau was one of the first makeup artists who ever did my makeup almost twenty years ago, and he always makes me feel beautiful. Eduardo is similar. I can relax completely because I know that whatever he does will be something I love.
Are there any products you love to use in glam, or do you leave it up to them?
I leave it to them completely. They spend so much time in the beauty world that the products they use are always way more exciting than whatever I have sitting on my shelf. I love learning from them.
What was the goal of the look for the premiere?
Kate Moss in the early 2000s.
Are there any beauty moves you leave strictly to the pros?
I would say I leave most moves to the pros. I have four kids, so my beauty routine usually happens in a two-minute time frame. Sitting still and having Beau and Eduardo wave their magic wands feels like a day at the spa.
What can you share about the upcoming season, and what do you think viewers will enjoy most about it?
It’s my favorite season so far. There is so much suspense, and the end of the season is truly shocking. Filming the final court scene was intense. All the actors and directors really stepped up their game this season. I love working on this show.
How do you relax after a big premiere like this when you are back at home?
It’s nice to see my kids’ reactions when I get dressed up for a big occasion. They look at me like I’m a different person. They are used to seeing me without makeup. I usually come home and put on cozy clothes and watch Survivor with the family.
Secrets From the Squad:
To create the perfect texture and foundation, Mendez applied Virtue Labs Volumizing Primer at the root. To finish the look, he combined Jillian Dempsey’s Roadie Hair Pomade and Virtue Labs Healing Oil. For makeup, Nelson’s magical ingredients included Tom Ford Lipstick in Sable Smoke, Lashify Control Kit “Fluffy Lite,” and Victoria Beckham EyeWear Longwear Eyeshadow Stick in Trench.
