When it comes to internet royalty, few names have the staying power of Trisha Paytas. Long before TikTok, before “creator” became a career and before oversharing became a defining currency of the internet, Paytas was building a world entirely her own. Nearly 20 years later, she’s done what few public figures ever do: stayed relevant through every era, platform and reinvention. She’s been a YouTube icon, podcast host, performer, Broadway star, Hacks guest star, wife and mother. Through it all, one thing has never changed: She’s been honest with her fans.
Now, the creator is opening up about her latest chapter: GLP-1 weight loss. After losing 26 pounds in just six weeks, Paytas is partnering with Ro to share what the experience has been like, from prioritizing her health to finding more energy for motherhood and everyday life.
You’ve always been incredibly open with your audience about every chapter of your life. Did you have any hesitation about sharing this one, especially knowing how strong people’s opinions can be when it comes to GLP-1s and weight loss?
“Absolutely. At first, I wasn’t sure I’d ever talk about it publicly. Being able to access Ro privately was actually one of the reasons I chose it in the beginning. But after experiencing how much this journey has positively impacted my life, I realized that if sharing my story helps someone feel less ashamed about asking for help or exploring their options, that’s a good thing. I’m not telling anyone what they should do. I’m just being honest about what’s worked for me.”
On behalf of your fans: Is the food content safe? Are we still getting the car bangs, Taco Bell runs and the famous bolognese recipe, or should people be panicking?
“The food content is absolutely safe. Food has always been such a huge part of my life, my family and my content, and that’s not changing. I still love food. If anything, one of the biggest surprises has been realizing I can enjoy the foods I love without food taking up so much space in my brain.”
You’ve built so much of your life around joy, food and family. What do you hope changes on this journey, and what do you hope stays exactly the same?
“I hope what changes is how I feel, which is already happening so quickly on my weight-loss journey. I want more energy, better health and to continue feeling confident and present in my everyday life and playing with my kids. What I hope stays exactly the same is the joy around food, family meals and making memories together. This journey isn’t about giving up the things I love. It’s about feeling my best while enjoying them.”
You’ve always approached beauty your own way. As your body changes, are there any treatments, skin-care rituals or self-care habits you’re especially focused on right now?
“Honestly, I don’t see it as that big a change because prioritizing my health is another form of self-care. It’s definitely harder nowadays, having a family, to find time to take care of myself, but I’ve always made sure to make space for it. Whether that’s journaling in the morning or putting on a face mask at night, I’ve always loved skin care and self-care. Right now, I’m focused on taking care of myself from the inside out, getting enough movement and staying consistent with healthy habits. When I feel good, it shows up everywhere.”
Your fans have watched your manifestations come true in real time, from Broadway to building your family. What are you manifesting now?
“More happy memories together. My family is everything to me and something I have wanted my entire life. I’m manifesting even more health, happiness and adventures with my kids, and I’m continuing to build a life that feels joyful. Maybe even running a marathon next year, who knows?”
Your life today looks so different than it did a few years ago. How much did becoming a wife and mom influence this decision?
“It influenced it a lot. Becoming a mom completely changed how I think about my health and my future. I want to be healthy not just for myself, but to set an example for my kids. This decision wasn’t about looking a certain way. It was about feeling healthier, having more energy and being able to show up for my family the way I want to. I want to be present for every moment.”
You have so many people who love you exactly as you are. What would you say to fans who might be surprised by this decision?
“I would say that I love and appreciate them for that. They’ve always been there for me through every up and down, and I’ll never take that for granted. This wasn’t about changing who I am or trying to become someone else. It’s about supporting my overall health so I can live longer and be the best version of myself. I’m still me. I still love eating my husband’s bolognese and going through the drive-thru. I still love sharing my life online, and I still have the same personality. The difference is that I feel healthier, more energized and more confident in this next chapter of my life.”
