Endotines are the key to most of today’s short-scar facelifts. They look like a little tab of Velcro, and also come in ribbon form to anchor facial tissues of the brow, midface and jowls. Through a short incision (sometimes less than 1 cm) a plastic surgeon can access, elevate and secure muscle of the underlying facial tissue to give you a lift. What’s more, even permanent endotines can generally be removed, repositioned or replaced in subsequent lifts. Shorter incisions can allow for some skin to be removed, but in general, a short scar is for those who don’t need sagging skin reduced.
