Jennifer Garner is opening up about her experience with Botox and filler. During an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the 13 Going on 30 actress gave her brief, unfiltered thoughts on getting cosmetic treatments and why she chooses not to get Botox.
“I don’t judge whatever makes anyone look or feel their best,” she said in response to a question about more women being urged to get plastic surgery and injectables as they age. “I haven’t needed it yet, but I can’t say that I haven’t said to doctors before, ‘Do I need to do this?’”
While the 53-year-old doesn’t regularly get Botox, she admitted to getting a minimal amount of filler. “As far as injectables go, I think just find somebody fantastic and proceed with caution,” she said. “I don’t do a ton, and Botox doesn’t work very well for me; that’s why I wear bangs a lot. I like to be able to move my forehead, and it’s such a big part of my face. I have, like, a five-head.”
She also had some encouraging things to say about getting older and why she thinks it’s “the best.” “It’s like you’re more confident and you worry less,” she said. “I had no idea how much I was going to love having teenagers. They’re just so smart and funny. They make me laugh, and they’re so sweet.”
Garner has previously been very open about her relationship with beauty and how it’s evolved with age. She told NewBeauty in a previous interview that she relies on “hero ingredients” like retinol and hyaluronic acid for keeping her skin in its best shape, and that some of the best beauty advice she’s ever received for aging was to wear sunscreen. “Nothing looks better in your 50s than sunscreen in your 20s,” she said.
