Gypsy Rose Blanchard is prioritizing self-care following her release from prison. On Friday, April 5, the 32-year-old Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy victim had rhinoplasty surgery in Lafayette, LA—and she told People that the procedure “went great.”

“I come in and out of sleep,” she told the outlet. “I was in pain at first but I am on pain medicine. I can’t breathe through my nose because of the packing but that comes off on the 10th.”

“I want to see it so bad!” she added.

In a separate statement to People last week, Blanchard shared that she’s gearing up for rhinoplasty surgery “to change the shape and appearance of her nose.”

“I’m going through a personal transformation journey currently and that includes a physical one, too,” she told the outlet.

She also seized the opportunity to promote her upcoming docuseries, set to premiere on Lifetime network this June. “Wish me luck with my surgery and watch the whole thing this summer on Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up,” she said.

Blanchard’s friend Nadiya Vizier also spoke to the outlet about her pal’s procedure. “She said she’s a bit nervous, but she’s happy it’s going to be done. The main thing is that she wanted a more feminine looking nose. She just wants to fix it up and give it a more feminine look.”

She added that she hopes people give her grace during this time. “My main message is to just, people need to let her live, let her experience, if they know that she’s doing something good or wrong, let her experience that. Let her learn from it. I feel like in a way, people are still trying to control her.”

Blanchard’s recent makeover isn’t limited to her upcoming rhinoplasty. Just last month, she surprised her followers by lightening her hair, part of her ongoing experimentation with different hairstyles. In a TikTok video from January, she revealed that she had chopped off eight inches of her hair to donate to The Great Cut, a charity that provides wigs to children dealing with hair loss.

In the TikTok video, Blanchard explained her motivation: “What I’ve been wanting to do for a very long time is donate my hair to a charity that makes wigs for people that have hair loss or are going through cancer. I’ve had my own personal experience with hair loss—not by means of health reasons. If you know my story, you’re very familiar with those reasons why.”

Despite her public presence, Blanchard has recently opted for a more private life by deleting her social media accounts. This decision comes as no surprise, given the intense scrutiny she’s faced since her release from prison, where she served seven years for the second-degree murder of her abusive mother.

Apart from her upcoming cosmetic procedure, Blanchard’s personal life remains a subject of fascination, particularly her relationship with her ex-husband, Ryan Scott. They connected during her incarceration through mail, but reportedly have since separated.

“People have been asking what is going on in my life,” Gypsy wrote in a private Facebook post obtained by People. “Unfortunately my husband and I are going through a separation and I moved in with my parents home down the bayou.”

“I have the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this,” she continued. “I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now I need time to let myself find… who I am.”
