The Trending Bangs Looks
In 2025, we’ve swapped out the blunt bang look for something a little lighter.
“I love wispier bangs because they add texture and lightness to the face without the heaviness of a full, blunt bang,” explains celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos. “It’s playful and youthful but still feels sophisticated when styled correctly.”
And when you’re looking to nail this look and keep hair out of your face, you have an easy option. Introducing brow bone bangs, fringe cut according to your brow down to your cheek. The result is a wispy, face-framing look that doesn’t hide your eyebrows, keeps hair out of your eyes and looks fresh and fun.
What are brow bone bangs?
Celebrity hairstylist and creator of Kim Kimble Hair Collection by HairUWear and Kimble Beauty, Kim Kimble, explains that this style of bang draws attention to the eyes. “Cutting bangs according to the brow bone involves shaping the bangs to follow the natural contour of the brow area,” Kimble explains. “It’s all about creating a frame for the face that complements your features. The length of the bangs is typically cut so that they hit right above or slightly below the brow bone, which brings attention to the eyes and adds balance to the face. The hair should be cut in a way that doesn’t interfere with the natural arch of the brows.”
And don’t worry—this isn’t the same thing as micro bangs, which lie further up on the forehead.
“Micro bangs are much shorter, usually cut above the forehead, often around the mid-forehead or higher,” Kimble explains. “Micro bangs are very bold and edgy, whereas bangs cut according to the brow bone are longer and softer, following the brow’s natural line.”
How to Get the Most Flattering Bangs
When you’re in the market for new bangs, there are a lot of qualities to consider.
“I like to look at two things: the length of [the] face and the jawline definition,” celebrity hairstylist Danielle Priano says. “People with a super-defined jaw can play more with the different types of bangs as opposed to the ones with rounder faces that tend to look better with curtain bangs that are not so short.”
According to Kimble, brow bone bangs can be easily adapted to any face shape, making it super versatile. “Bang cuts at the brow bone are great for most face shapes, but they especially flatter those with round or square faces because they help add some angularity and length,” she says. “They also work really well for people with prominent cheekbones, as they can draw attention to the eyes and balance the face. If you have a high forehead, this cut can be great for softening that area. Ultimately, it’s a versatile look that can work for many people, but it’s always tailored to the individual’s features.”
