First, she starts off her on-the-go routine with FLOWER Beauty Skincognito Stick Foundation ($9) before adding a little highlighter, bronzer and blush to contour and brighten her face. Here’s where things get interesting. Perhaps out of the normal sequential order we are used to, Barrymore then reaches for her moisturizer to to give her skin a radiant glow that goes above and beyond a regular highlighter application.

“Take a little bit of moisturizer…I just put it on my fingers and tap, tap, tap,” instructs Barrymore as she dabs moisturizer on key areas of her face. “It does something that even a highlighter can’t do. It’s beyond a makeup glow. It just makes your skin look really fresh.” It might be a little out of order, but it makes total sense when you think about it. What better way to give your skin a dewy, luminous look than to add moisture?

As a final step, she uses Colorescience Sunforgettable Brush-on Sunscreen ($57) to set her look. “It has a really nice SPF in it,” says Barrymore. “As you get older, you realize that you have melasma and you have babies and you get this kind of crazy pigment stuff.”
