There’s been no shortage of jaw-dropping looks as celebs and attendees gather for the 78th Cannes Film Festival. On Monday, Bella Hadid touched down at the affair with a new summer hair color, while Halle Berry hit the opening ceremony wearing a chic microbob. The latest glam moment we’re finding ourselves obsessed with comes from Andie MacDowell, who recently stunned on the red carpet with her hair styled in a sleek updo.
MacDowell attended the Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning screening during the festival, where she wore a black tuxedo and a bow tie, and finished the look off with a pair of sparkly high heels. The 67-year-old is known for wearing her bouncy ringlets in their natural state, but for the premiere, she decided to go for something a little more drastic by blowing out her curls and brushing them into a French bun with a side-swept bang.
An updo like that obviously requires the use of a product with some real staying power. To achieve MacDowell’s look, her hairstylist moisturized her blown-out strands with the L’Oréal Elvive Hyaluron Plump Moisture Plump Serum ($9) before using the Elnett Extra Strong Unscented Hairspray ($16) to ensure her hairstyle remained in place for the event.
This style is a big change for MacDowell, who’s pretty much become the face of celebrity women who are embracing their gray hair. When she made her first appearance at Cannes earlier this week, she was wearing her silver curls in their natural state, though she’s opted for the blown-out look on plenty of occasions before. We don’t know if the blowout will be making a second appearance before the festival’s end, but we’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for the rest of the actress’s looks no matter what.
