Viola Davis does no wrong, and apparently, neither does her glam squad.

The star’s carefully constructed Alexander McQueen gown served as the inspiration for celebrity makeup artist Autumn Moultrie’s look for tonight’s Academy Awards. “Viola’s dress is always my inspiration for the look. We wanted the look to be soft and sophisticated, but also dramatic. That’s why I went with a soft lip but a dramatic bold and metallic eye,” she says. The result: A look that’s equal parts stunning, timeless and, most surprisingly, affordable.

To prep the skin for makeup, Moultrie applied the new L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Midnight Serum ($33). Next, Moultrie applied Age Perfect Radiant Serum Foundation SPF 50 ($16) in Mahogany all over the face, then followed up with the Age Perfect Creamy Powder Foundation ($16) in Sienna under the eyes, on the bridge of the nose, in the center of the forehead, and in the center of the chin to deliver a lighter, illuminated effect. Everywhere else, Moultrie used shade Espresso.

To create Davis’ bold eye, Moultrie used the Age Perfect Satin Glide Eyeliner ($10) in Black followed by Voluminous Mascara ($9) and Age Perfect Magnifying Pencil ($10) on the brows.

To finish, Moultrie lined lips with Age Perfect Anti Feathering Lipliner ($10) in Cranberry, and filled in the lips with the shade Bold Orchid.
