The biggest hair color trends for spring have a few things in common: dimension, balance and shine. Elusive, I know, but that’s kind of the point. As celebrity colorist Jacob Schwartz explains, the best spring hair trends aren’t your traditional reds or blonds. “They’re more about these in-between shades,” he says, like a color that looks so natural, it could easily pass as their own.

Celebrity hairstylist Brendetta Ashley says spring 2026 will be all about “rich, expensive-looking dimension,” while celebrity colorist Kadi Lee expects more focus on hair health to help color (and the hair overall) look its best and most vibrant.

With that in mind, keep scrolling to find your favorite spring hair color to bring to your next hair appointment.

Strawberry Brunette

“For Daisy Edgar-Jones, I created what I call a ‘strawberry brunette,’” says Schwartz. He explains that the color weaves “in warm, rosy undertones through a brunette base to give it richness, movement and a more unexpected take on spring color.”

Teddy Bronde

Celebrity hair colorist Dimitris Giannetos predicts teddy bronde, as seen on his client Tate McRae, will have a moment this spring. He describes it as “a hybrid color between blond and light brown that is soft and creamy, with subtle, diffused blond highlights.”

Upper East Brunette

“For those wanting to keep their brown classic and rich, the Upper East brunette is the color of spring,” says Giannetos. “Seen on Cindy Crawford, this look is bold and dimensional, with a pure cocoa color and caramel hues from the East Coast sun.”

Golden Strawberry Blond

“Reds and coppers are having a major moment this season, but in a more refined way—less vibrant, more natural and undeniably luxe,” says Brendetta. “Across every shade, the common thread is shine: a glass-like, polished finish that makes the hair look healthy and elevated.”

Schwartz cosigns the trend with his client Grace Van Patten. He recently created a bright, warm tone he dubs “golden strawberry blond,” which has a “natural, sunlit feel and subtle Irish-inspired warmth. It’s dimensional and soft, but still makes an impact.”

Multi-Tonal Brunette

Brendetta says “brunettes are becoming more multi-tonal, with subtle hints of gold woven throughout to avoid looking flat or one-dimensional.” A deep brunette base with thin ribbons of a lighter, milkier shade makes for a striking option for spring.

Caramel Bronde

Lee says deep, caramel bronde has been a client favorite for spring. “Warming up the color as the seasons shift is really flattering,” she notes. “This color is vibrant, and the dimensionality gives a sunlit, from-within glow, especially when the hair is healthy and has a lot of shine and movement. Best of all, it’s very low-commitment, as the base color is intentionally left a bit deeper to ground the look and allow for easy grow-out.”

Silky Spun Golden Blond

“I’m moving into spring focusing on silky spun golden blondes,” says Lee. “The look is built on highlights placed so precisely that they create added dimension while reading almost like a single process. The result is a seamless, uniform finish that feels polished without looking overdone. It’s the kind of color that makes the hair look incredibly healthy and effortlessly radiant.”

Similarly, Schwartz predicts a rise in what he’s calling “starlet blond”—“a creamy, golden blond with soft, warm dimension that is polished and light-reflective, but still very natural and controlled.” He recently brought the shade to life on Michelle Randolph.

Espresso Brunette

“I’m seeing more warm espresso tones—rich, dark shades that come alive with golden and chestnut overtones that add subtle warmth without sacrificing depth. Not a flat, heavy brunette, but a dimensional shade with deep undertones and soft, warm highlights,” says Lee.

Warm, Natural Blond

Brendetta predicts warm, natural-looking blond shades, like champagne and honey, will dominate this spring. These tones offer “softness and light without feeling overly processed,” she says.
