Rihanna Has Her Sights Set on This Popular Plastic Surgery Procedure

She’s not the only celeb opting for one.

Rihanna is "ready to confess," as Interview Magazineputs it. In a cover story for the outlet, published Tuesday, April 9, the 35-year-old revealed her tentative plans for a breast lift—and even hinted at a timeline.

When asked by interviewer Mel Ottenberg about plastic surgery and what her "fantasy" procedure would be, the singer initially responded with, "me?" Then she posed a second question: "Yeah, in like 10 years or whatever?"

The Fenty Beauty founder promptly corrected herself, stating, "No, no, no. Not 10. I don’t got that much time," she said.

Rihanna went on to say that she wants her breasts back to "right where they used to be," adding, "I don’t want implants. I just want a lift."

Ottenberg asked if a breast lift would essentially give her her "old" breasts back. "I haven’t done enough research to know, but I heard that you might have some scars," said Rihanna. "I’m okay with all that."

One treatment the "Umbrella" singer wouldn't consider? A tummy tuck—"because I don’t want a new navel," nor the scar, she says. Rihanna, who prefers less invasive procedures, added, "I’m also scared of the knife. So if I had to pick one thing, I’m going to pick my boobs."

A breast lift—also known as mastopexy—is a procedure ideal for restoring a youthful breast shape. It doesn't involve adding breast implants for fullness but rather adjusts them to a higher position.

“A good candidate [for a breast lift] is someone who has postpartum or weight loss-related breast deflation," Chicago, IL plastic surgeon Andrea Martin, MD, said in a previous conversation with NewBeauty. "They don’t want to feel like their breasts are droopy and want to regain the youthful kind of cleavage they had when they were younger.”

Other experts —including Houston plastic surgeon Henry Mentz, MD and physician assistant Nadia Hafeez, PA-C, advise familiarizing yourself with the differences between a breast lift and implants before committing to one or the other, or both. "Breast implants alone do not change the shape or position of your breasts on the chest wall nor do they change the size of the areola or the position of the areola-nipple complex," they explained in a previous conversation with NewBeauty.

"Think of it as adding air into a balloon—the balloon already has its shape,” they continued. "If breasts are sagging, an augmentation will not help much to lift them, which is what might lead people to choose to combine a breast augmentation and a breast lift." Essentially, this combination offers the ultimate breast transformation, although it may not be necessary unless you want to add fullness and reposition them.

Worth noting: Rihanna is far from the only celebrity to consider getting—or get—a breast lift. Among them is Kristin Cavallari. When the Laguna Beach star opened up her Instagram Story to questions from fans, one person asked if her breasts are real. The actress replied: "Gonna keep it real with y’all: got a breast lift after breast feeding all three kids.”
