I’m all for Valentine’s Day being a celebration of whatever holds a special place in your heart. And while yes, you’re doing it right if that’s your partner, I’m also a big advocate for extending that love to the other things you adore: Pizza! SoulCycle! Couch time! And, perhaps obviously, beauty products.
The NewBeauty team has a well-documented soft spot for the latter, having tested just about every new product to hit shelves. That also means we know what’s truly worth loving. So when asked to name our one true love in beauty-product form, the answers were tough—but not impossible—and surprisingly illuminating. Ahead, we share them in honor of Valentine’s Day.
Liz Ritter, Editorial Director: Skinoren Azelaic Acid
"My skin was super red even before this winter's onslaught of ice, cold and snow, so suffice to say I didn't start out 2026 with glowing skin—until my friend @OMGBart sent me some very precious cargo from Spain in the form of Skinoren. The azelaic acid Rx is a game-changer (I'm currently using the 20-percent version). In less than a week it helped calm down my skin and I swear it looks smoother. I also haven't had a breakout since I started using it, which is huge in my book."

Tatiana Bido, Director of Aesthetic Content: POND’S Dry Skin Cream
“My one real true love for my skin is POND’S Dry Skin Cream ($6). Long before I ever heard the words hyaluronic acid or had a rotation of moisturizers to choose from, this was the cream that hooked me at 16. It was my first ‘real’ moisturizer, and decades later, I still reach for it every winter. It’s rich, reliable and never lets my skin down, proof that sometimes your first love really does last.”
Britt Fallon, Beauty Director: Anfisa's ÂN-GLOSS Ceramide Lip Treatment
"I've had a love affair with Anfisa's ÂN-GLOSS Ceramide Lip Treatment ($45) since we met in 2024, and I still get excited to use it. The texture glides on like butter—it's nonsticky perfection—and I always 'overdraw' a little because it also helps soften lip lines. The original clear balm is my ride-or-die, but if you prefer some pigment, it comes in two gorgeous shades as well."

Leiana Foye, Managing Editor: Facile’s Beyond There Ultra-Hydrating Cream
"It’s a tough choice right now between Dr. Althea’s 345 Relief Cream Mist ($20) and Facile’s Beyond There Ultra-Hydrating Cream ($28), but since the temps are hovering in the single digits with no end in sight and I’m sitting next to my radiator, I’ll go with the latter. Beyond There is the perfect moisturizer: fragrance-free, barrier-strengthening and loaded with ceramides, essential fatty acids and hyaluronic acid—but the most impressive thing is how lightweight such a rich cream is. My skin feels smooth, silky and never sticky. I’ve used every last drop."

Allie Hogan, Senior Beauty Editor: Cocokind Ceramide Lip Blur Balm
"As a root beer and cream soda connoisseur, I just about lost it when cocokind said they were collaborating with OLIPOP and offering a Cream Soda flavor of its iconic Ceramide Lip Blur Balm ($12). I cannot stop applying it, but I’m also slightly scared to run out because I’ve become obsessed. It’s the perfect clear, shimmery shade and has saved my lips from cracking during this stretch of cold weather. It smells like a delicious cream soda float.
Although my husband rarely notices my makeup, even he said my lip gloss was popping while I was wearing this one, which feels like the ultimate compliment."

Danielle Fontana Dooley, Director, Digital Content: Epicutis Oil Cleanser
"I’ve always wanted to love oil cleansers, but most of them leave behind that slippery film that forces you to double cleanse anyway. Epicutis Oil Cleanser ($85) is the exception. I use it every morning for a lymphatic drainage massage and it emulsifies instantly into a milk that rinses completely clean—no residue, no tightness, no second cleanse required. It’s one of those products where the price clicks the moment you use it. I’m already on bottle two and officially converted."

Marisa, Features Editor: Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Deodorant
"I know calling deodorant my one true love in beauty-product form feels kind of weird, but Donna Karan’s Cashmere Mist Deodorant ($32) has remained untouchable in my routine. Its effectiveness, super-smooth texture, powdery-clean scent, and—I'll admit it—aesthetically pleasing packaging have made it impossible for any other deodorant to come close. It’s a little pricier than other options, but all of the above justify the price point. I even gifted it to everyone in my wedding party—and they all fell in love, too."
