We can always count on Megan Thee Stallion to switch up her hairstyles like it’s nothing (it’s called versatility!). The rapper appeared at the 2025 Met Gala on May 5 wearing her hair in a large sculptural ponytail featuring three large buns stacked on each other and decreasing in size, leading to a long, wavy ponytail that flowed down her back. Megan’s longtime best friend and hairstylist, Kellon Deryck, shared via Instagram that the style was inspired by an old photo of Josephine Baker.
Of course, once the main event was over, the rapper had to slip into something a little more comfortable and easier to party in. So while heading to a Met Gala after party thrown by A$AP Rocky and Ray Ban, Megan replaced the ponytail with something more simple: a short, chin-length bob.
The bob appeared to be slicked back retro-style with flipped under ends and a kiss curl that hung just above her eyebrows. Deryck has yet to share details on all the styling products that went into creating her second look, but we do know that bobs pretty much took over the red carpet last night. Pamela Anderson hit the event wearing a Parisian bob and micro bangs, while WNBA star Angel Reese showed up wearing a slick bob with her ends dramatically flipped out. I guess this is all just more evidence that 2025 is the year of the bob.
