The appeal of a celebrity manicure shows no signs of slowing down. We may be biased—as longtime beauty editors, scrolling Instagram for nail inspiration is quite literally part of the job—but our numbers back us up. Our readers devour nail content, from Kylie Jenner’s recent soft-square red manicure to Hailey Bieber’s blue polish, and now we have a feeling Jennifer Lopez’s “perfect luminous nude” is about to earn plenty of saves, too.
The manicure was revealed by Lopez’s longtime nail artist Tom Bachik, who shared a photo of his client on Instagram with the caption “Lumière Nude.” In the shot, Lopez leans forward to sip what appears to be an espresso martini, putting her almond-shaped nails on full display. Even without an extreme close-up, you can tell they have that coveted natural-chic look: The color is nearly an extension of her skin tone, but cleaner, glossier and more luminous.
“Martinis and manicures all summer long with @jlo,” Bachik added in the post before sharing exactly how he created the look. He began with his Tweezerman x Tom Bachik Nail Care Set, then applied Aprés Nail’s new Soft Builder Gel in Glow ($15), to create what he called the “perfect luminous nude.”
The look feels especially fitting for Lopez, who has made glossy, skin-toned neutrals something of a signature through countless barely-there manicures with Bachik. (Just look at his Instagram feed for proof.) The duo also recently went in the opposite direction with a “vintage baroque” manicure for Lopez’s 57th birthday, but this latest look is all about clean, expensive-looking simplicity: the kind of nude that goes with everything and still feels special.
