If your ideal fragrance is less fresh laundry and more pastel bakery on a lazy Sunday, listen up. Fragrance brand DedCool and hair-care brand Emi Jay just teamed up on a limited-edition collab, and it’s every bit as soft and sweet as it looks.
The star of the drop is the new Mochi Milk Aura Hair + Body Mist ($24), which reimagines Emi Jay’s Aura Hair + Body Mist with DedCool’s beloved Mochi Milk scent. Think peach nectar, fluffy marshmallows and sweet vanilla bean. Spritz it from scalp to ends to lightly hydrate hair without disturbing a finished style, or mist it on skin for on-the-go fragrance.
A sweet, cozy scent is my love language, so of course I had to try it, and in the few days I’ve had it, it’s become the fragrance I reach for right before I head out the door.
Julianne Goldmark, who founded Emi Jay, and Carina Chaz, DedCool’s founder and CEO, are both ’90s babies from Los Angeles, but it took a friend and a night in Malibu for them to finally meet in person. “We wanted to play in hair, they wanted to play with scent, and it felt super synergistic,” says Chaz. For Goldmark, building the collab around Mochi Milk felt like a no-brainer. “We wanted to collide the worlds of DedCool and Emi Jay in a way you could really feel, bringing Mochi Milk to life through this dreamy, pastel, cozy world that captures everything we love about the fragrance.”

Then there’s the claw clip, which is just too cute. It’s a soft pastel scattered with tiny star-shaped gems, and wearing it makes me feel a little whimsical (in the best way). Even better, I wore it all day and never got that tight, achy feeling some clips leave me with.
The Mochi Milk Aura Hair + Body Mist is available now, but since it’s limited-edition and happens to make a perfectly sweet holiday gift, I wouldn’t wait too long.
