The wellness industry is growing like wildfire, with dietary supplements leading the charge. It seems like everyone I know is taking some combination of capsules, gummies, powders, etc. to maximize their health, and the stats back that up. According to Future Market Insights, the U.S. supplements market is experiencing substantial growth this year, with projections of a $60 billion market value by the end of the year. And, it's not just the above-30 set buying in. A 2025 survey from Statista of Gen Z consumers in the United States found that 48 percent of participants had bought vitamins in the past six months, proving that supplements aren't reserved for older demographics. Everyone wants in on what these modern remedies have to offer.
But, it's important to remember that in the U.S., dietary supplements aren't pre-approved by the FDA like drugs. Instead, the FDA monitors the market and steps in when adverse events are reported, etc. Therefore, it's up to all of us to do our due diligence before introducing something new into our routines. Don't hesitate to discuss it with your doctor, especially if you take any medications. Always consider the brand/source you're purchasing from, and look for clinical studies and/or third-party testing. A good supplement can be incredibly helpful, but it's always best practice to proceed with caution and maintain reasonable expectations. Here, our favorite new supplements that have launched so far this year, from magnesium and colostrum powders to NAD+ and more.
