You probably know her from her years on MTV's The Hills—Audrina Patridge has become known for her effortless style, girl-next-door charm and gorgeous, brown beach waves. But for this summer, she's sporting a new look, and we love the brighter vibe, especially as we all emerge from our pandemic-induced sweatpants looking to reenter the world with a bang. Here's how her stylist, Wella Professionals North America ambassador Briana Cisneros achieved the reality star's new blonde 'do.
The Step-by-Step Process
"It was definitely a long process, but absolutely worth it! I had to isolate thin small sections all throughout her hair using Blondorplex + Welloxon Perfect Crème Developer 20 vol as my formula to lift her brunette hair to blonde, and I used my Total Transformation Signature Technique for the application, something I teach in my online education. It was what allowed me to get the optimal amount of lift from her hair. After removing the foils, I used two different formulations to tone her hair: Koleston Perfect 88/02 and 7/1—my new go-to base—as her soft face adjustment and subtle root shadow. Then I pulled Koleston Perfect 10/16 through her mid-lengths and ends. Both formulas were mixed one to two times with Welloxon Perfect Crème Developer Pastel. I never regret taking my time to do it right. It’s amazing how healthy and shiny her hair feels. I love that I can use Koleston Perfect color to tone, and afterwards have the hair feel even healthier than it did before we lifted her to blonde!"

The Inspiration
"We talked about almost all hair colors, from pink to purple and even dark brown, and we ultimately decided on a sandy blonde as inspiration from her daughter! She has naturally gorgeous, blonde hair, and we thought why not recreate a similar color with bright blonde pops throughout, as if she was in the sun all summer."
The Aftercare
To keep your blonde looking bright and healthy, Cisneros recommends using a bond-repair product at home, like the Wella Professionals Fusionplex Collection. "This will maintain hair health, ensuring a vibrant color," she says. "For blondes in particular, a purple shampoo is key. You don’t have to be regimented about using it once a week—just when you start to see some brassy areas peak through."
