One variation of abdominoplasty is the mini tummy tuck. This uses a shorter incision just at or above the pubic region, similar to the incision for a cesarean section.
Through this incision, excess fat, skin and tissue localized in the center of the abdomen can be reduced, and underlying muscles can be tightened. Liposuction is often used in conjunction with a mini tuck to reduce fat.
Although less extensive, this procedure should still be performed only by an experienced, board-certified plastic surgeon. The recovery and risks are very similar to a regular tummy tuck, but the mini tummy tuck can have a shorter and somewhat easier recovery.
