This summer has been bursting with nail trends—from playful fruity and al fresco designs to eye-catching chrome finishes. As we inch closer to autumn, we wouldn’t be surprised to see these manicure trends get a seasonal twist. But before we fully embrace fall, Rita Ora is making a strong case for keeping summer nails in the spotlight. The singer and Typebea founder, 33, recently debuted the perfect end-of-summer manicure—and it mirrors a recent nail look from Kylie Jenner.
Enter Ora’s “handpainted hibiscus nails” by celebrity manicurist Michelle Humphrey. In a video shared on Humphrey’s Instagram grid, fans get an up-close look at this vibrant manicure: long, almond-shaped nails with a curved white French tip, a sheer pink base, and multicolored hibiscus flowers placed in different spots on each nail. True to trend, Humphrey finished the look with a shiny chrome finish.
Ora’s hibiscus manicure puts a fresh spin on the classic French tip, and she’s one of many celebrities proving that unique takes on the timeless nail trend are a trend in their own right. As celebrity manicurist Julie Kandalec told NewBeauty this past April, “The classic French manicure will always be a go-to look for nail lovers, but the popular style continues to evolve with a variety of ways to put a twist on the classic look.”
