Although lip lines are completely normal, wrinkles and fine lines in the area begin to become more prominent with age. While there are many ways to avoid this loss of volume, model and actress Molly Sims swears by one specific product that she says not only plumps her lips lines, but also primes for the perfect lipstick application.
On Instagram yesterday, our summer 2020 cover star gave us her “beauty scoop,” where she broke down and sampled all of the products she’s been loving for the upcoming fall season.
The first must-have mentioned is the Macrene Actives High Performance Lip Filler ($125). “It contains over twenty anti-aging properties and it also has a lot of hyaluronic acid, which is plumping and hydrating,” says Sims.

The main ingredient is dipalmitoyl hydroxyproline peptide, which Sims says weightlessly plumps the lips sans any annoying stickiness. “This is peptides galore for wrinkly lips,” she says.
Though the product is great on its own (it’s super glossy), Sims also applies it under her favorite makeup staple: red lipstick. “I use this before I use my lipstick, even if I’m wearing red lipstick,” she says, and continues by applying her “perfect red for fall:” Kjaer Weis Lipstick in color Amour Rouge ($32).
What shocked us the most was the layering ability of this lip product. As the “Yes Man” star kept applying more, the color not only got more vibrant but it also turned from a light orange to a deep red. “It’s buildable and it’s that perfect red-ey orange.” She ends her montage with a tip we’ll never forget: “If you’re going to do a red lip don’t do any blush.”
