Like pretty much everything else from the past year, tonight’s Academy of Country Music Awards did not follow the standard taping schedule: Performances and red carpet were pre-taped, but the co-hosting job, courtesy of the dynamic duo of history-making Mickey Guyton (she is the first Black woman to host the show and made history a few weeks back as the first Black solo female artist to earn a Grammy nomination in a country music category) and Keith Urban, happened live.
As part of the pre-tape, Samuel Rodriguez did skin-prep, hair and makeup for Guyton’s glowing and, as he described it, “shining bright” glam look, and shared the following breakdown on Instagram as the show started:
“Makeup on set using @ctilburymakeup for skin prep @diormakeup on skin @hudabeautyand @marcjacobsbeauty on eyes & setting powder custom mink lashes by @lillylashes lip combo using lip liner color called limitless brown by @makeupforever Lip shade called trident and glossed over with @hudabeauty silk balm for that crystallized finished look ? lighting by @glamcorofficial“
For hair, Rodriguez listed a luxe lineup and exclusively told us that he “was inspired by the 1940’s femme fatale” look: “Hair products using @oribe heat protector, @dysonhair @dysonhairpro blow-dryer, followed “with my Marcel curling iron to create a loose wave by @hottoolspro and finishing the look with my texture spray to create this deconstructed texture by @oribe“
