As we transition slowly (and hopefully smoothly) into the spring and summer months, it seems that the beauty trends across the board are embracing a less-is-more, pared-back aesthetic, and honestly, we’re on board. Just in time for completing any spring beauty Pinterest boards, Dying for Sex‘s Michelle Williams just debuted a short, sweet and simple manicure perfect for embracing springtime.

How to Recreate Michelle Williams’ Fuchsia Squoval Jelly Nails at Home

At the premier for Williams’ raunchy new comedy, Dying for Sex, the leading lady not only stepped out to get her flowers for another soon-to-be hit show, she also invented a new spring manicure trend, thanks to her nail artist, Elle Gerstein. To create the premier nail look, Gerstein opted for none other than Après Gel Couleur in That’s Taro-ific ($15), which the artist says is “a bold, chic spring must-have.”

While the bright, pinky purple shade was a true showstopper, the short length and squoval shape of Williams’ premier mani also struck a cord, demonstrating that short, natural nails are truly having a moment right now. Pair that with the extra-glossy finish that makes the fuchsia mani look like a delectable spring jam, and you’ve got the ultimate and understated it-girl nail style.
