It’s officially that time—the MET Gala 2024 has begun. Tons of celebrities have already begun gracing the MET steps, and amongst them are some of Hollywood’s hottest male celebrities.
While the theme may be “Sleeping Beauties” there will be absolutely no sleeping on the best looks from the night on our end. MET Gala co-chairs Chris Hemsworth and Bad Bunny have already made their first appearance at the long-awaited event and following them are several other well-dressed men. Ahead, a roundup of the best men’s looks from this year’s MET Gala.
The Best Men’s Beauty and Fashion Looks from the 2024 MET Gala
We’ve come a long way from the days where a plain black suit was the only option for men at events like the MET Gala. Now, male celebrities are not only welcomed but encouraged to experiment with fashion and beauty looks. Here are some of our favorites from the 2024 MET Gala.
Bad Bunny
One of the co-chairs for this evening’s “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” MET Gala, iconic Puerto Rican rapper and singer, Bad Bunny, graced the MET steps in a show-stopping Margiela suit, paired with diamond-shaped sunnies and an oversized beret-style cap. Paying homage to his Puerto Rican roots, the floral arrangement in Bad Bunny’s hands features the national flower of Puerto Rico.
Chris Hemsworth
Another one of tonight’s coveted co-chairs, Chris Hemsworth took to the steps with wife Elsa Pataky in carefully coordinated Tom Ford looks. Hemsworth’s unbuttoned dress shirt, cream suit and tousled hair is giving easy-breezy, and goes perfectly with Pataky’s all-gold ensemble. We’ll be keeping a close eye on his skin-prep routine, too, because look at that glow.
Jonathan Groff
Broadway’s favorite tenor, Jonathan Groff, was among the first men to take on the 2024 MET Gala steps, and his look played perfectly into the theme, featuring embroidered flowers and a pearl-encrusted collar, creating a beautiful combination of simplistic and experimental. His glowing complexion and expertly quaffed hair don’t hurt, either.
Steven Yeun
In custom Thom Browne, BEEF star Steven Yeun channeled the theme with a suit that may look simple at first, but features texture and embroidery that draw in the eye. Another one we’re going to be keeping an eye out for skin-prep from, Yeun’s skin is absolutely glowing.
Ben Simmons
Australian basketball forward Ben Simmons showed up to the Met steps wearing a Thom Browne look from the Fall/Winter 2024 collection. The strands of ivy/roses and the clock brief case are nods to the “Garden of Time” dress code, and his utterly radiant complexion is the perfect compliment to the tweed ensemble.
Colman Domingo
We can always count on Colman Domingo to turn out a look that is interesting, eccentric and oh-so chic, and his 2024 MET Gala look was no exception. Dressed in Willy Chavarria, Domingo’s look features a cloak-like jacket and a bouquet of calla lilies that mirror the calla lily-shaped embellishment on his lapel. As Domingo noted in his carpet interview with La La Anthony, the references throughout his look are pulled from men who inspire him, like André Leon Talley.
Mike Faist
One of the internet’s current boyfriends, Challengers star Mike Faist turned up to the MET Gala 2024 in a Loewe suit, but the star of the look was an embellished radish, paying homage to Jonathan Anderson’s most recent collection which plays with the idea of food. His youthful complexion and windswept hair have us swooning, too.
Baz Luhrmann
Iconic filmmaker Baz Luhrmann showed up to the 2024 MET Gala in an outfit as out-of-the-box as his films. Matching with both his wife and the garden foliage lining the stairs, his deep green custom Prada look features flowers and an acid wash-like texture.
Josh O’Connor
Josh O’Connor has been winning our hearts with his boyish charm throughout his Challengers press tour, and his MET Gala look featured a more experimental look for the actor, as his custom Loewe suit included exaggerated suit tails, an embellished collar and floral boots.
Jack Harlowe
In a dove gray Dior men’s suit, Jack Harlow took to the MET Steps in a two-toned ensemble that radiates an air of whimsy and mystique, perfect for the garden-themed event. His signature curls were styled naturally, and his skin took center stage in his toned-back yet striking look.
Dan Levy
Dan Levy’s black-to-floral-ombréd suit definitely turned heads, but his radiant skin was the focal point of his 2024 Met Gala look. To prep the Schitt’s Creek star for the big night, celebrity groomer Laila Hayani used the Solawave 4-in-1 Renewal Skin-Care Wand ($198) and Solawave Neck & Chest Rejuvenating Mask ($299).
Jeremy Strong
Succession and Enemy of the People star Jeremy Strong graced the carpet in an all-white suit, adorned with flowers on the shirt and lapels, adding interest to the otherwise chic but simple look. Rocking a full mustache and one dangling diamond earring, Strong’s skin was shining, too.
Lil Nas X
Lil Nas X is never going to shy away from an opportunity to pull out an over-the-top fashion look, and his head-to-toe white and jewel-encrusted suit was no exception from his legacy of iconic MET Gala looks. Complimenting his suit was his positively radiant complexion and lengthy, glass-like tips.
Hugh Jackman
Keeping it classic, Hugh Jackman showed up to the 2024 MET Gala in a black suit, embellished with satin lapels and a double bow tie. In true man-crush fashion, Jackman’s slicked-back hair let his radiant and ageless complexion take center stage.
Usher
Better late than never, Usher appeared on the Met Gala carpet wearing a sheer black dress shirt, bedazzled black jacket and leather-like black hat, but his look was really completed by the wax-looking, dripping bouquet in his hands.
To get his complexion in tip-top shape, Usher’s makeup artist Lola Okanlawon turned to Danessa Myricks’ Colorfix Nudes Hybrid Cream ($20), Yummy Skin Serum Skin Tint ($36) and Yummy Skin Blurring Balm Powder ($36).
Chase Stokes
Appearing hand-in-hand with his beau Kelsea Ballerini, The Outer Banks star showed up to the Met Gala shirtless in a 70s rockstar-inspired look, rocking a fully sequined black suit and layers of jewels. What really sells Stokes’ look is his effortlessly pushed-back hair, which the star’s groomer, Marissa Machado revealed was courtesy of STMNT’s Definition Spray ($21), Gel ($21), and Fiber Pomade ($24).
