Nominee Lily James stunned at the Golden Globes pairing classic old-school glamour with a bit of skin for a modern twist. Before the big night, she prepped with a “pre-globes sandwich,” aka a facial from the one and only Iván Pol. Lily’s stunning makeup, dress and jewelry are perfectly complemented by her hair which solidifies the look as a classic and brings attention to her decollete.

Celebrity hairstylist Halley Brisker wanted the look to be “a classic and complimentary nod to old Hollywood glamour.” To get the look, he needed to add some length, so he used Great Length Hair Extensions. “With Lily’s hair being a shorter cut now, they allowed me some extra length to create something in the front,” says Brisker. “The Great Lengths tape system also allows for a seamless and invisible appearance when the hair is back.”

He notes that if hair extensions are necessary for your hair length to achieve a similar look, the tape system helps allow flexibility when styling, which makes the process much easier. Lily’s hair was prepped with Olaplex No.6 Bond Smoother ($30) and Olaplex No.9 Bond Protector Nourishing Hair Serum ($30) to help bring out some shine. It was all worked into shape using hairspray.

“I always recommend playing with shapes for any style. It is about molding and fashioning in to shape something that plays into your target style while being complementary to head shape etc.,” says Brisker. “Never get stuck thinking it can only be one way or an exact copy of something you’ve seen. It can be your version—have fun with it!”
